GOLETA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH DIRECTOR, YOUTH MINISTRIES (Part
Time – Appx. 20 hrs/week)
SUMMARY: Goleta Presbyterian Church (GPC) has a 25 year tradition of successful youth ministry. The Director of Youth Ministries will bring his or her Christian faith, spiritual gifts, talents, training, and experience to the service of the youth of our church. From this person’s service and example, young people will discover the kind of personal, vital faith in God through Jesus Christ that will guide them throughout life.
GPC is a theologically moderate, lively congregation of 180 members located in central Goleta. The Director of Youth Ministries will work closely with the pastor, staff and lay leadership. Membership in a Presbyterian church is not required, but an appreciation of, and support for, the vision and character of GPC is essential. The Director will report to the Pastor and church session.
While there are specific core responsibilities in the work, we are open to recognizing and supporting a variety of approaches to youth ministry based on individual gifts and calling. Over the past 25 years, this position has a record of providing positive experiences to both the Director and youth as they participate in the life and ministries of GPC.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Pay is commensurate with skills and experience. The successful applicant will participate in a standard background check, which is required of all church employees.
